Protection from Flu Viruses

The 2013-2014 trivalent influenza vaccine is made from the following three viruses:
  • H1N1
  • H3N2
  • B

It is recommended that quadrivalent vaccines containing two influenza B viruses contain the above three viruses and a B/Brisbane/60/2008-like virus. Read this article for How to Find the Right Flu Vaccine

In the event of a vaccine shortage, we will first distribute vaccine to high-risk groups identified by the CDC, such as people with:
  • Lung disease
  • Asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
