Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Victim Advocates are specially trained to provide crisis response and support after a sexual assault. Advocates respond to hospital emergency rooms, nurse examiner sites, and police departments to meet with survivors. They support survivors and their non-perpetrating support systems by offering crisis intervention, advocacy, information, and referrals. Advocates listen and believe survivors while respecting their rights and decisions throughout the healing process.

*Volunteer Victim Advocates provide services in Calhoun County only. Victim advocacy in Kalamazoo County is provided by the YWCA, and in Van Buren County by the Domestic Violence Coalition (DVC). Additional volunteer opportunities beyond victim advocacy may also be available.
