Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Kenneth Taft has overall responsibility for all operations of the healthcare system.
Taft received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an accounting major from Western Michigan University in 1971 and a Master of Business Administration degree with a finance major from Western Michigan University in 1973. He has been employed by the Hospital since 1973, initially as a budget accountant. Taft has also served as director of budget and reimbursement, hospital controller, and assistant vice president/controller. He was senior vice president, finance and CFO from 1993 through 2004.
Taft is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and has served as a board member and treasurer of Gateway Services of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the finance committee of Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. He currently serves on the boards of Michigan State University – Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies, Caymich Insurance Company, LTD, West Michigan Cancer Center and West Michigan Air Care.
